We came back in the beautiful Parish Portland for a 6 km (ish!) trek from the dunes of Winnifred Beach, through the lush vegetation and on a magic carpet ride on one of the most exotic hidden gems in Jamaica.
From Kingston, you can get there EITHER via Manor Park thru Junction etc OR Harbour View thru St. Thomas around the south east coast etc
From Manor Park travel via Stony Hill, Golden Spring, Castleton and Junction towards Port Antonio. Winnifred Beach is approximately 12.6 km from the Texaco Gas Station in Port Antonio. Total journey will take approximately 98 km (2 hrs 6 mins).
From Harbour View roundabout travel via Bull Bay, Yallahs, Morant Bay and Golden Grove towards Boston Bay. Winnifred Beach is approximately 8.3 km from Boston Bay. Total journey will take approximately 103 km (1 hr 50 mins).
Via Junction
1) Manor Park - Port Antonio
2) Port Antonio - Frenchmans Cove
3) Frenchmans Cove - Blue Lagoon
4) Blue Lagoon towards Fairy Hill and Boston Bay
5) Turn left into Fairy Hill Gardens at the Crest Hotel which is on the right hand side of the road
6) Turn right at the Fairy Hill Gardens Neighbourhood watch sign
7) Turn left at end of road
8) Turn right at end of road and follow road to beach
Via St Thomas
1) Harbour View Roundabout - Boston Bay
2) Boston Bay - Fairy Hill
3) Turn right at Fairy Hill Gardens
4) Turn right at Fairy Hill Gardens Neighbourhood watch sign
5) Turn left at end of road
6) Turn right at end of road and follow road to beach
