Run #407

Limetree Farm, St. Andrew

Sunday, 3 Nov, 2013

Start Time:
13:00
Hares:
Mountain Goat, Cockpit
About:
Limetree Farm and Guest House, Mavis Bank district (very rural E. St. Andrew). The view from Lime Tree Farm, out over the rolling green fields of Blue Mountain Coffee & down to the Caribbean Sea, is quite possibly the best in the world... Limetree Farm is situated above the Yallahs Valley with views of Blue Mountain Peak, Cinchona and the St. Thomas coast. At a higher point Hashers will reach Governor?s Bench, named for Governor Sir Alexander Swettenham, who frequented Bellevue coffee plantation house nearby (now UWI property) He was British administrator of Jamaica at the time of the 1907 earthquake and is remembered chiefly for the gaff, which forced him to resign, whereby he sent packing US ships sailing from Cuba to Jamaica with aid, because the admiral hadn?t requested permission to land. www.limetreefarm.com PLEASE NOTE We advise that only vehicles with good clearance be driven on the steep, unpaved road from the Coffee Factory to Limetree (20-30mins. drive). ALSO FRESHLY ROASTED LIMETREE FARM COFFEE IS ON SALE

At the Guava Ridge Intersection, continue downhill towards Mavis Bank. Where the road takes a left over a bridge go straight ahead by a bus stop on right.
